You are not a number. You are not a case file. You are not what the headlines call you.
You are not a criminal. You are someone who lived through something most people will never understand.
You crossed borders—maybe alone, maybe carrying a child, maybe leaving your whole life behind. You held your breath. You made it through. You are still here.
El Cruce was created for you, to honor what you survived, to give space to your voice.
You don’t need perfect words, you don’t need papers, you can share as much or as little as you want, you can speak in English, in Spanish, in Haitian Creole or in the language your memory holds. At El Cruce, we’re here to listen—to the hard parts, the quiet parts, the things you haven’t said before. We would love to know your name, even just a first name. A word. A place. Something to hold your story with care.
We would love to have your story, you can submit a letter, a voice note, a poem, a memory, or a photo, you can write long or short, raw or soft; but we also understand how terrifying it can be to be seen. We welcome anonymous submissions with open arms, you don’t need to explain yourself. You don’t need to justify your fear, you are safe here. And if you feel ready to speak more, we’d love to interview you for the podcast. Only if you're willing. Only when you feel safe. You don’t have to show your face, or your real voice, you don’t have to be perfect, you just have to be you.
Your story matters, and we will listen, because you are not alone and you should never have had to carry all of this by yourself.
